Welcome to the USS Reliant!
Right now, we don't officially have a mission. Instead we're recruiting and building up to the minimum 6 player mark to make the Reliant an 'active' sim within Bravo Fleet. What does that mean for us? Simple. What is your character doing before joining the crew? Or what have they done long ago before joining? It's up to you. Think about how you want to introduce your character. Ultimately, we'll all be on DS9, where the Reliant is docked. So give us an idea about what your character is like, and have fun!
As a template, at the beginning of each post, write this in italics:
Your Character's Name (and whoever else is in the post) Location (USS Reliant or DS9 or wherever) The Stardate (For simplicity, we'll use this format: yyyymm.dd It's different, but it makes sense and you can tell what day it is at a glance.) Time (Since it's Star Trek, stick with military time)
So for example:

Commander Jon'Pa USS Picard, En Route To DS9 238805.22 0459 hours
It wasn't often Jon'Pa couldn't go to sleep. Like most Klingons his high metabolism is countered with a deep and intense sleep cycle. But tonight something was different. He had been given the news yesterday about his promotion and his posting to the USS Reliant as their commanding officer. After he had continued his shift the senior officers threw a small party in the mess hall for him. It was enjoyable. Perhaps a little too much, considering the volume of alcohol that he ingested. Still, he couldn't sleep. After all these years, he was finally given command of a starship. When he was in the Klingon Defense Force almost 13 years ago, he had reached the rank of commander by the end of the Dominion war. When Jon'Pa joined Starfleet, he assumed after some academy training, he would be given the rank of commander and perhaps even given a ship. This was far from the truth.
Training at the academy was not enough to become a commander in Starfleet, he knew this now. At the time, he was angry. After a few years though, he really began to value his time with fellow Starfleet officers. His time on the Picard was especially invaluable. The Picard had been involved with several first contact missions and many other diplomatic functions. When he was with the KDF, first contact involved landing several birds of prey outside the home of their leader. While terms were being negotiated, several more Klingon ships flood the sky and the planet and it's resources are brought into the empire. In Starfleet, it was different. If a species wants left alone, it is. If it wants more, it can have it. Joining the Federation has it's advantages and trading with the Federation is always a sure bet. Between the two philosophies, Jon'Pa would prefer a combination of the two. There were several times on the Picard where a show of overwhelming force would have made things easier, still, he was glad to be where he was.
While he was a long way from being the Federation's representative for first contacts, he was close. You have to have a lot of experience under your belt before you engage in a first contact. Jon'Pa thought about the Picard's namesake, and all that he had done to reach the rank of captain and command the flag ship of the Federation. Jon'Pa was confident that someday, he too will be regarded as a great explorer, but that day will have to wait.
The Picard was en route to Deep Space Nine where the USS Reliant was docked taking aboard crew and equipment. She was an older ship, built right around the time the Dominion War began. Starfleet had commissioned 200 Defiant class ships be built slightly before the war broke out. By the time the Romulans joined the fight, around 50 had been built and no more were deemed necessary to build. The Reliant was the third Defiant class ship to be built, following the Defiant and the Valiant. During the war it was constantly on the front line, and somehow it survived. While Starfleet doesn't like ships to keep a kill count, the Reliant's was the highest of almost any ship in the fleet. Jon'Pa had even fought along side the Reliant during the war while he was still with the KDF.
Lying down in bed, staring at the ceiling, Jon'Pa was imagining what it would be like to sit in the captain's chair for the first time. HIS chair. He was reviewing his senior staff's service records in his head (or what he could memorize from them) and before he knew it, he was fast asleep.

Lt. Cmdr Jon'Pa IKS Im'Poq 237411.81 1133 hours
"Dominion warships have been attacking Federation outposts for the past week. They swoop in, attack and they're gone before we can mount a counter attack. Our mission is to go under cloak and discover how they are doing this."
Captain Jalek turned to his first officer. "Commander, lay in a course for the Lopan system."
Jon'Pa turned toward the helm officer. "Helm, lay in a course: Lopan system, warp six. Battle officer, engage cloak." The officers on the bridge went about their tasks. Jon'Pa assumed his position to the right of the captain and began reviewing system reports. The ship shook very slightly, due to the age of the Im'Poq, and then it went to warp.
To most humanoid species, Klingon ships can seem smokey and dark, but for Klingons, it's comfortable. Their eyesight is extremely more advanced than humans. They can, to an extent, see in the dark. Most Klingons don't take advantage of that skill anymore due to modern living but hundreds of thousands of years ago, ancient Klingons needed to hunt in the dark and their eyes adapted to meet this need.
"Perhaps they're hiding in a nebula." Jon'Pa offered aloud.
Jalek replied, "That would be impressive since there's no nebula nearby."
The Chief Battle Officer spoke up next. "Most likely they've developed some sort of cloaking technology. They've already destroyed or even captured lots of Klingon and Romulan ships."
"A cloak is a major tactical advantage." Jon'Pa said. "They've been invaluable since they were invented and the Dominion would be foolish not to pursue that in some fashion."
"You're forgetting the sheer amount of power needed to operate a cloak. Not to mention adapting a ship for a cloak is no easy matter. We've had a long time to work out all the bugs in our systems, and have managed streamline the technology. Since they're cut off from the Gamma Quadrant, developing new technologies would be next to impossible."
The Chief Engineer had a good point. With the wormhole mined, the Dominion no longer has the kind of resources it used to have. Jon'Pa was apprehensive, as was the rest of the bridge crew. Nobody knew how the Dominion was pulling off these attacks, but Jon'Pa was confident that whatever schemes the Dominion had developed, the crew of the Im'Poq would vanquish them.
---- Three Hours Later ----
"We are approaching the third outpost in our patrol. Outpost 298. Crew compliment, 100. Moderate defenses." Jon'Pa reported.
"Just like the last outpost." Jalek said.
"I just wish they'd attack already!" The helmsman yelled.
"Silence!" Jalek screamed back. "The people on that outpost are brave warriors of the Federation! And we are allied with the Federation. Need I remind you that a Federation ship saved the Im'Poq just a few months ago?"
The bridge fell quiet. Jon'Pa recounted the events of which the captain had mentioned. The Im'Poq and two other birds of prey were patrolling the border when they were fired upon by a Dominion cruiser. The IKS Korpa was destroyed instantly, and were it not for the intervention of the Federation ship, the entire patrol would have been destroyed.
"Sir, detecting something." The science officer said.
"Report!" Jalek demanded.
"A large concentration of energ... Sir the Outpost is being fired upon!!" Off the port side of the Im'Poq, the Federation outpost didn't even have time to raise shields before the immense beam of energy impacted their hull. The station was split in two and exploded.
"Sir, we should decloak and return fire!" The weapons officer said.
"Return fire where? There are no ships in the area!" Jon'Pa yelled. "Recommend we do not disengage cloak until we have a firing solution."
The captain didn't say anything. He watched the station on screen, falling apart and secondary explosions occurring all over the place.
The weapons officer looked at Jalek. "Sir! We need to do something!"
"Sir!"

The weapons officer looked at Jalek. "Sir! We need to do something!"
"Sir!"
Jalek shot a glance towards the weapons officer. "tammoH!!" He yelled. The officer obeyed and focused on his workstation. "We cannot fire at what we can't see. Decloaking would reveal our position and whatever destroyed the outpost could easily destroy us. No, we investigate."
The science officer observed his terminal. "Captain, I'm detecting a slight polaron resonance trail. Since the Dominion uses polaron energy in their weapons, this might lead us to where the blast came from."
"Excellent work! Helm, follow that trail!"
"At once."
Jon'Pa walked over to the science officer's station. "Captain, it would appear that this beam wasn't initiated nearby."
"What do you mean?"
"I looked at the long range sensors, and at current setting, they show this beam was fired outside of our sensor range."
"That's impossible." Said the chief engineer. "What could fire a beam of energy that far without the beam losing strength?" No one could answer the engineer's question, but it was a valid point, a starship couldn't generate the kind of power needed to fire a beam of polaron energy powerful enough to be devastating at long range.
"A planet." Jon'Pa said. "Or an orbital weapons facility of some sort. Perhaps it's some new Dominion weapon where they fire an intense polaron beam and can snipe targets far away."
"Impressive, from a technological point of view." Replied the chief engineer. "But not the weapon of a true warrior."
"Agreed." Jon'Pa responded. "Captain, recommend we follow this trail and destroy whatever is there."
"Find the source of that beam, and lay in a course at the fastest possible speed. This a weapon the Dominion cannot be permitted to have!"
